Essential Information & Disclaimer

The vast majority of our website's properties are privately owned and are furnished to the owner's taste, so the standards, equipment and styles of properties will inevitably differ. We endeavor to give an accurate description of each property with interior and exterior photographs.  Please note that in some properties it is not always possible for the furnishings within the lounge/dining area to accommodate all guests at the same time. The properties furniture and equipment operate under Cyprus safety standards and regulations, which might be of lower lever of other countries or the expectations of the guests. 

Utility Services 
Water, electricity and sewage consumption are included within the property's rental cost (rates), unless otherwise stated within the property's description page. Unfortunately, it is the case that properties listed on our website can suffer from water or electricity shortages or sewage blockages, and such cuts/problems may occur without notice for varying periods of time.  In addition, you may find that the electricity may trip if too many appliances are used at the same time. We ask for your patience and co-operation in such instances, as you will appreciate these situations are out of our control whilst we shall struggle to have them repaired as soon as possible they come to out attention. 

Cooling & Heating Equipment 
When accommodation is equipped with cooling or heating units, this will be detailed in the property's description page. Such units are the air-conditioners (normally known as 'split units' because they blow both cool and warm area), fireplace, central heating, free-standing fans, free-standing gas heaters, ceiling fans, etc. 

Assistance in Properties
You have chosen a self-catering private holiday property and we intend to respect your privacy.  Rest assured, you will not be herded into coaches or asked to attend welcome meetings whilst you are on holiday.  However, should you require assistance in any way, someone will be close at hand, should you need anything, contact us on the details cited at the website. 

Adjoining Building & Road Works 
Building & Road works noise are unavoidable as the demand for new accommodation or maintenance increases. It is the case that some properties listed on our website might be located in areas still being developed and therefore there is a possibility of construction work, which may be carried out by local authorities or private developers. Many of our properties are also situated in dense areas and work may begin on a neighboring property over which we have no control, nor are we given prior notice. However in any event we will always do our best to inform you of the facts in advance, but if this is not possible, please accept our apologies. 

Car Hire Services 
This is a third-party service offered to you by other companies, not by us. However, here is how the car-hiring services normally work: Generally cars are collected at the airport on arrival and returned at the end of your holiday, rented on a 24-hour period from the time that you collect your car. Please check carefully that your rental period coincides with your requirements and flight times. For your own safety and convenience we recommend you book a larger car rather than a smaller car for your holiday to allow for luggage space. All drivers should have a valid driver's license (preferably for at least 3 years). No refunds will usually be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a valid driving license. All designated drivers must take their licences with them, Photocopies will not be accepted. Child/booster seats can be fitted to the majority of hire cars that are offered and must be requested at the time of booking (please indicate the age of your child at this time). All car categories are subject to availability. In the event of a specific car type not being provided by the car hire company, an alternative vehicle may be offered.

Children's' Safety 
As we know, children are naturally curious, especially when on holiday where there are lots of areas and things to be explored. Please ensure that children are not left unsupervised at any time during your holiday and take extra care with balconies, the sea and swimming pools etc. Parents or the keeper are responsible for the actions of their children at all times. 

Disabled travelers 
Pissourivacations.Com is not a specialist provider of holiday places for the disabled. Many properties are not equipped to cater for the needs of disabled guests and may cause problems for wheelchair users. It is therefore most important that we are informed of your special needs when inquiring about a holiday. By informing us, you help us to ensure that each individual is provided with the most suitable property for your needs. 

Early/Late season and Public Holidays 
We would like to advise our customers that certain properties may have limited facilities available between October to April and Public Holidays. Consequently we recommend car hire during these times. 

Children & Baby Equipment 
If you require a cot or highchair or any other children or baby equipment please request it at the time of booking, in order that we can ensure it is available and once booked is at the property on your arrival. A supplementary charge will be added to your invoice depending on the equipment and duration requested for. 

Housekeeping service 
Properties being listed with us are self-catered unless if otherwise declared. Given this, housekeeping service might vary with each booking. If your property has a barbecue, please ensure you leave it in a clean condition, as no housekeeping service is included in the upkeep of this facility. Please note that beach/pool towels are not supplied and these should be taken with you unless otherwise stated. We kindly ask all guests not to use the bath towels supplied at the property for the beach or around the pool. 

Swimming pools 
Please take extra care with children if your property features a swimming pool and particularly if it is described as an 'infinity'. This style of pool will have an open drop from the pool edge. In most of the swimming pools there are no lifeguards and although some are not deeper than 1 meter for safety reasons, you are highly recommended to supervise any children, have a swimming partner, avoid swimming in night time or whenever a maintenance is conducted. 

Mosquitoes, ants, cockroaches and other insects are endemic in warmer climates, particularly in the country areas. Ant powders are a good repellent but it also helps to keep crumbs to a minimum. Mosquitoes can be kept at bay by a good repellent, which can be purchased in either the UK or local chemists (pharmacies) and supermarkets. Many of our properties are surrounded by gardens and countryside and field mice and other rodents are therefore common, along with local farm animals. Local dogs and cats sometimes roam around unattended and may cause a disturbance. All these types of aggravations, together with late night noise are unfortunately unavoidable. We therefore ask for your patience and understanding should they occur. Please note in accordance with the requirements of the property owners we are unable to allow pets in any of the accommodation properties within our website. 

Kitchens include basic cooking utensils, iron, ironing board, cutlery and crockery. Some properties have additional facilities. These will be indicated in the property description where available. Please note cleaning products or cooking materials are not generally provided. 

Lost property 
Please ensure all personal possessions are packed when departing your accommodation. Before departing your villa/apartment please ensure you check the property thoroughly for your personal belongings i.e.: the safety deposit box, wardrobes, drawers, under beds, bathroom cabinets, clothes line etc. Regrettable is not in any case liable to return to you items discovered after your departure. Each property requires servicing before the next arrival and cleaning teams will remove and discard any items left in the property following your departure. If you are able to notify us quickly enough, we will do our best to track non-perishable items down for you and arrange for them to be stored at our office in Pissouri from where you can arrange collection at your own means and cost.

Mobile phones 
Generally most GSM network mobile phones do work in Cyprus, although at times reception can be erratic and some locations are unsuitable for mobile use (mountains). We, therefore, advise that you check with your airtime provider. 

Personal health & safety 
We take the safety of our customers very seriously, unfortunately crimes against people and property are a fact of life throughout the world and you have the same responsibility for your personal safety as you do at home. We therefore advise all customers to be extra vigilant and ensure that great care is taken of your property and personal safety. You must ensure all the windows, shutters and doors are locked at night and where available, set the security device, in addition to when you are away from the property. In the event that you should lose any items of value whilst on holiday through theft or otherwise, you must report the facts immediately to the local police or other competent authority and obtain a written report. If a report is not obtained it will be difficult for you to pursue any claim through your holiday insurance. 

Pools, garden and general maintenance 
Many of our properties are maintained by the staff while some properties are maintained by the owners or privately appointed companies who have access. Gardens have to be maintained on a regular basis and it is simply not possible for this to be carried out on 'change-over' days. With regard to pool maintenance, pools are normally checked and cleaned twice a week and this is normally carried out very early in the morning to avoid disruption to the guests. However, neither pool nor garden personnel have fixed hours, so it is not possible for us to advise you of the exact date or time of their visit. We ask for your cooperation when our staff or owner appointed companies visit, as it is imperative to keep the properties well maintained for our clients' enjoyment throughout the year. 

Safety Deposit Boxes 
Please note that safes are not provided in all properties and should you require a property with this facility please ask us at the time of booking. 

Safety Standards and Regulations 
The safety standards and regulations in operation in Cyprus may not reach the same level as those in other countries. The monitoring, enforcement and compliance with these local regulations is a matter for the authorities of that country and the foreign supplier of the services concerned. The general standards of safety and hygiene, fire precautions etc, may be lower than in other countries. Liability insurance requirements vary considerably from country to country, as does the responsibility placed on an organisation by local law. Please therefore take all precautions to protect yourself and your family whilst on holiday. 

Satellite TV/Video/DVD/games consoles 
Most satellite systems in Cyprus have over 100 channels, however these are mainly a mixture of Greek and European channels. Usually there are just a few English channels like CNN New, Euro News, BBC World and sometimes a film is shown in the evenings in English. If a villa is equipped with a DVD, video or games consoles, you will need to provide your own DVDs/games. 

Unless otherwise stated, telephones are not provided in properties being listed with our website. Therefore we recommend that, if possible, customers take mobile phones in case of an emergency. 

Telephone Calls 
Calls made to staff may be recorded for training and quality control purposes. 

Travel Insurance 
It is strongly recommended that you take a fully comprehensive travel insurance which includes accommodation cancellation. 

No inoculations or vaccinations are compulsory for European residents, please check specific requirements from your country of origin if outside of Europe.

If you are taking any form of medication, take adequate supplies with you as well as items like contact lenses. 

Website and content 
We make every effort to ensure that the information and photography contained on our website is accurate. However, many individuals are responsible for the provision of your holiday arrangements and they may alter or temporarily withdraw some of the advertised facilities or services without prior notice to us. Unfortunately errors can occur and prices may alter, however we will always endeavour to advise you of any changes at the earliest opportunity. The features of properties, the distances to amenities, pool measurements and other measurable we have provided are approximate and do not bind our team in any way.
